cardo might be my favourite young producer out there. alot of his shit kinda sounds the same, but who doesnt love 808s, synths, and hi hats. it that 90s west coast sound but it still sounds fresh and like it was made in 2011.

2622282, this knocks. his most cohesive project by far.
Posted by PROMO, Mon Oct-31-11 05:10 PM
i still think his best songs are on other mixtapes, but this doesn't really have but maybe one skippable track for me.
2622283, Agreed
Posted by mrshow, Mon Oct-31-11 05:14 PM
Nothing on here (so far) that gets me like "Murder on My Mind" but it's a great album. Gibbs is a talented dude.
2622360, RE: Agreed
Posted by Thanes1975, Mon Oct-31-11 08:32 PM
yeah that Murda On My Mind is COLD
2623817, It's one of my fav songs of the last few years
Posted by mrshow, Fri Nov-04-11 02:47 AM
2622291, okay this is good but it ain't shit compared to his previous mixtapes
Posted by Hellyeah, Mon Oct-31-11 05:45 PM
i know he's signed to jeezy & all now but he should stay away from them minimalistic 808s beats as much as possible...they don't really fit him imo...

oh and him & Dj Burn One need to quit fucking around and drop a full album together..
2622405, had me at the cardo and dom features

Don't care for the Jeezy signing, but whatever it takes to get Gibbs more exposure.

Posted by mrshow, Fri Nov-04-11 02:53 AM
I think it's probably Gibbs's most cohesive album yet. Like I said in a reply above, I don't think theres a song on here I like more than "Murda On My Mind" but it's pretty much uniformly excellent.
2625126, RE: After the first few listens...

Yeah this is definitely an amazing project. I love Heaven Can Wait/ My Dawgs...Murda on My Mind isn't my favorite Gibbs song tho....

2628429, Another great project from Gibbs

been one of my favorite rappers these past few years.

dude consistently drops dope verse after dope verse.

here's a link for some of my favorite Gibbs songs if anyone's interested. a lengthy collection (77 songs), but well worth it

2629668, kind of disappointed
Posted by astralblak, Fri Nov-18-11 09:59 PM
the beats sound a lil' soft or too polished... like he's ready to compromise for the crossover, which is his damn right. "Rob Me A Nigga" which I thought was Alley Boy's track when it first dropped a few months ago and "BAN.ned" are the gems. some other good joints too, overall a 3/5
2629710, I'm with this
Posted by Nodima, Fri Nov-18-11 11:33 PM
I feel a little differently about why, but let's just say once the No DJ Midwestgangsta dropped, that shit skyrocketed up near my Top 25 albums of ALL TIME, and Miseducation is a crazy mixtape. I love the two EPs he's got too (I guess 3, never heard the 2dopeboyz one). But this and the last mixtape No Filla (shoulda switched the titles) have a lot of heat but they also feel like they're missing a little something.

I do agree I don't like him as much with this production. It makes him less interesting, or overpowers his voice a little, or something. Kind of the same reason I didn't like Meek Mill's Dreamchasers as a whole even though there's some heat. Except I hated Dreamchasers cause Mill's way less than half the rapper Gibbs is IMO.

2629719, it is the voice quality your getting at
Posted by astralblak, Fri Nov-18-11 11:56 PM
Gibbs has a naturally smokey/earthy tone to his vocals. with the overly synthy-808 sound his voice doesn't fit. his relentless over-powering rhyme style comes across like he's trying too hard.

i really hope he does whole or majority albums produced by KRIT, DJ Burn One or that ilk, in the future, 'cause his voice just fits better on them. shit that EP with Statik proved he also sounds at home over boom-bap shit (well the mixtapes told us that), but maybe that's just my nostalgia kicking in
2644642, This has really grown on me...

very dope project...
