to correctly interpret the speaker's intentions and words.

Either someone misheard some of the words they said or someone made
punctuational mistakes, because some of those sentences/phrases just
don't make sense.

I'm at the point now where I prefer to HEAR the shit, so if I get confused, I'll go research, rewind the shit 50 times... And if I'm still confused, I'll make a point to keep my mind open, instead of being nervous about what the editor/reader is going to think.

I feel like people, in general, want to present an image of certainty
when there really is none. Really, what we call "certainty" is just a
comment about an observation of long-term trends in a particular
environment. Fluctuations occur, even in so-called "universal
constants".

(That article doesn't seem to say what I said about fluctuation - I
didn't read all of it - but when you start to dig deeper, you'll see
that nearly everything is up for debate in science, to some degree.)
