What does that have to do with anything? It's not a songwriters job to work with great artists...It's his/her job to simply write a great song...

And that's what he did whether it was The Time ("777-9311" and a gang of other shit that's too long to name from those first two albums), Vanity 6 ("Nasty Girl" still gets run...one of the sickest grooves and drum breaks ever recorded) to the fucking Bangles ("Manic Monday"..nigga could do pop better than most pop acts) to Sheila E ("Glamourous Life is insanely genius)...

Shit, Prince was even in so much of a zone that decade that he could literally walk into a recording session for someone else (Stevie Nicks--"Stand Back"), come up with a catchy keyboard groove and leave minutes later on a pimp strut
