2592223, 1990's: Original song/Album version VS The Remix
Posted by -DJ R-Tistic-, Thu Aug-25-11 06:12 PM
Let's do somethin just to see how we all feel about diff songs. Post a song and the remix/video version (preferably with music links) and vote on which one you like more.

Try to pick songs with different beats and even lyrics if possible, since remixes back then tended to be completely different songs. Some might be given like "Flava in ya ear" but you can still post it.

R&B songs count too...so let's go
2592224, I like this topic.

2592236, Snoop "Murder Was the Case"

This one only had different beats but I thought it worthy of a vote anyway. I liked both beats but I prefer the Doggystyle version:

Original/Doggystyle album version:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LC2OpFMBReg

Murder Was the Case album soundtrack/remix
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QShkP_ZynfU
2592242, Ahhh!!!! Hell yeah....ummmmmmmmm..............................
Posted by -DJ R-Tistic-, Thu Aug-25-11 06:47 PM
The main thing I like more about the original is the drums (which are basically Dre Day) and that Church-style breakdown behind "Now I lay me down to sleep"....those chords were KIIIIIIIIIILLIN. The 2nd one sounds a lot more eerie and goes with the theme more.

Ehh.....ummm.............fuckit Original for that breakdown alone LOL
2592246, Yea man I hear you about the chords during the breakdown...
Posted by Brew, Thu Aug-25-11 06:58 PM
shit was dope.

But yea you're right, the remix beat was eerie and def fit with the theme more. I love them both, the original just slightly more. And you're on the same page as me, it's cause of the drums...which I also just recently found out (on here, I think actually) were the same exact drums as Dre Day.

12" Dirty wins for me. When I heard the album version, I was PISSED. I don't think I've ever listened to it in its entirety since.

Of course the differences in the first two are minor, but I liked the way how Sadat delivered his lines better in the dirty version.
