yeah, she had a great voice...
but the stuff w/ ike pretty much all sounded the same
and only a few of those songs were really great.

then she released a bunch of material in the late 60s.
and the entire decade of the 70s.

and most of it was pretty terrible.





she had a crossover comeback in 1984 with
the "private dancer" album,
anchored by one of the greatest songs pop songs
ever released..."what's love got to do with it."



and then,
and then...

nothing.

but she's still around.



well, the movie was made about her life did her good.
her value as an artist seems to hinge on her survial...

the soundtrack to the movie was pretty dope, i guess.
but explain to me how she is seen as a soul survior.



she's had more longevity than her talent would
seem to warrant.
