2564978, The best awkward/uncomfortable interviews of all time
Posted by amplifya7, Sun Jun-26-11 02:26 AM
Just came across this:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hmfHw9UItos

German guy asks Spliff Starr how it feels to be a legend, then follows by saying "Sometimes I think to myself that maybe some of the legends you spoke of would not be where he is without a man backing him up like you, because every leader needs a back up man to really protect him and guard him from the vipers and the fakes."

So cringeworthy
2564979, That Rick Ross interview where the interviewer was too shook to ask anything
Posted by CondoM, Sun Jun-26-11 02:35 AM
Ross basically snatched the mic from him and went on a ten minute rant. I wish I could find it, that was hilarious.
2564988, that shit is classic!
Posted by sweeneykovar, Sun Jun-26-11 03:33 AM
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7IfMVJ2QkFo

"My dream is to own 10 burger kings, be on a boat, shirt off, shorts saggin, no underwear, wearing chancletas"

"I'm drinking Ciroc, very little cranberry and I'm already smokin froot loops"

"I got a quarter mil chain on cuz I used to eat mayonnaise sandwhiches for dinner"

"20 years ago Michael Jackson dropped Thriller, now we finna drop Trilla"

"what I just did is make you a more legendary interviewer"
2564996, That shit is amazing.
Posted by BSharp, Sun Jun-26-11 05:13 AM
Wow.
2564998, "they call it a gun charge, I call it... I call it... I call it... what do they call it?"
Posted by CondoM, Sun Jun-26-11 05:30 AM
What the fuck was he on? This interview is probably the finest moment in hip-hop history.
2565021, This guy
Posted by Kemp, Sun Jun-26-11 09:22 AM

2565053, interveiw never gets old!

2565131, Ross is hilarious!
Posted by Quinn, Sun Jun-26-11 05:42 PM
"I'm tryna to have 10 Burger Kings, so I can get fat and sit on a boat. And laugh at niggas. That's my motivation in life!"

2565178, Please note that interview was BEFORE the 50 beef became public

Pre "Trilla". The interviewer was actually on point, and Ross still made him look like a moron. Actual facts are no match for Rick Ross antics.

Posted by JFrost1117, Mon Jun-27-11 12:38 AM
But gotdamn, he's gotta be the worst interviewee ever, for that rant. To rate the sonning that Rawse gave dude though, is A++. Punishment for what he thought was a stupid question turns out to be a super stupid answer.

2565006, Arsenio Vs. Vanilla Ice
Posted by briwil25, Sun Jun-26-11 07:40 AM
Nothing else needs to be said.
Arsenio went at that dudes Ocean Wave.
And he thought bringing Flav out would validate him.
Sad.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KAz-SF-329E
2565027, Retroactviely I've started to side withIce on this one
Posted by Adwhizz, Sun Jun-26-11 10:05 AM
all things considered he handled that pretty well
2565057, RE: Arsenio Vs. Vanilla Ice
Posted by Nick Has a Problem...Seriously, Sun Jun-26-11 01:06 PM
he pretty much brought him on the show to embarrass him. it's kinda fucked up looking at it now.
2566115, Yea, I feel that it made more sense at the time
Posted by -DJ R-Tistic-, Tue Jun-28-11 10:53 PM
A LOT of Black folks, mainly older ones, just felt it was Elvis all over again...but he was the "hottest" thing out, so Arsenio had to have him on there. He wouldn't have gotten away with just asking him "so when's the next album?" but damn, it looks HORRIBLE seeing it now.
2566821, Arsenio looked mad. sounded mad too.
Posted by MISTA MONOTONE, Wed Jun-29-11 08:28 PM
not a good look.

he made Vanilla a sympathetic figure in this clip. smh.

2565026, The phone interview I did with Juliana Hatfield
Posted by johnbook, Sun Jun-26-11 10:00 AM
That woman was such a Holdrum of the doldrums, it wasn't funny. Most of the answers were "um, yeah". "Oh, yes." "Yes." "No."

The interview started as if she had just gotten out of bed, and I understand that I may have very well been the last interview of a heavy promotional day, but damn that was terrible. I'm glad it didn't turn me away from doing interviews.

2565036, wow that was fantastic
Posted by Nodima, Sun Jun-26-11 11:16 AM
Also, it's interesting how Carson and Cavett were both from Nebraska. I wonder what about my state allowed us to rule late night for a moment?

2565132, Carson/Cavett = MIddle America appeal (at the time)
Posted by Bumaye, Sun Jun-26-11 05:42 PM
Whitebread, wholesome look, no coastal "edge," middle America vocal tone and delivery. The middle America approach was considered the greatest chance to maximize national appeal.

Now, why Nebraska and not two dudes from, say, Kansas, I can't say. But the marketing algorithms heavily favored the midwest at that time.
2565211, I mean, Omaha is the telemarketing capitol of the country
Posted by Nodima, Sun Jun-26-11 11:38 PM
It's just cool to me we had late night on lock like that too

zero effort whatsoever to make it a good interview
2566767, RE: Well, I think one question was answered sincerely there.
Posted by Austin, Wed Jun-29-11 06:29 PM
In regards to what "Hopelandic" is.

I actually like the idea of a song having a set of sort of "wordless" words that don't mean anything and it's more about the mood of the assembled pieces than it is any sort of words.

But yeah, otherwise the three and four word answers are hilariously inept.

Posted by zuma1986, Sun Jun-26-11 09:25 PM
75% of the interview is great and amazing but once Nas finds out the he's not getting everything Nardwuar showed him he got so pissed and ruined such a good interview.
