I was sitting having breakfast in some out of the way diner type joint and they had country music playing. And without realizing it I ended up deeply engrossed in the narrative of the namesless, random songs that were playing.

That doesn't happen with contemporary "black" music for me.

I think thats why I was so impressed by Frank Oceans music, I find him lyrically brilliant. I mean "Swim Good" and "Songs For Women" are beautifully abstract, which I dig in music.
