but i disagree with the vocal thing. a cat who can really sing doesn't impress me that much. i mean obv cats like sam cooke an otis are on another level. but just cuz they more technically gifted singers than neil young or lou reed doesn't mean theyre vocals are more interesting.

neil young high on coke out of his mind voice cracking on mellow my mind is as emotional as any soul singers performance even if it aint gonna impress the judges on pop idol.
