(granted, this is in my age group/demographic, mind you)

when he first went solo (though he has many classics in the Loggins & Messina years), he dropped some albums I just adore.

CELEBRATE ME HOME
NIGHTWATCH
KEEP THE FIRE (<--- is FIYA)
HIGH ADVENTURE
VOX HUMANA
I'm almost there on BACK TO AVALON, though it gets quite Toto FAHRENHEIT-y in spots.

even ALIVE!, his live album in between those joints. Later down the line, LIVE FROM THE REDWOODS, RETURN TO POOH CORNER, etc. I don't think he ever had it.

I think his '80s (and really most of his solo career) legacy is more the movie soundtrack themes ("Danger Zone", "Footloose", the Caddyshack song, etc) than anything else...

But that initial '77-85 run is great to me. Lots of deep cuts, some hilarity, and I think that because I really got into these records when I came of age, that I'm so sentimentally attached to them.
