Sure, they're looking to line their pockets with democrat money along the way, but these are not allies of progressives. Shit, Steve Schmidt led the campaign to confirm Roberts and Alito.
The only similarities that the left shares with the Lincoln Project is the stance of "never Trump". They're willing to play dirty through their ads, though, something the democratic party has never shown much willingness to do.

The only thing they do, like you said, is line their pockets with democratic money (and presumably never trumpet republicans).
They are allies for the mission of getting rid of Trump but I know they aren't progressives. Never said they were.
But Trumpers don't make such distinctions and will point to this to talk about how terrible people anti-Trumper are.
