I think you would be hard press to find people who can remember or tell you anything about the year or number of casualties from many of the global conflicts from the 90s like Eritrean–Ethiopian War, Sierra Leone Civil War, Bosnian War, wars in the Congo, Burundian Civil War,Algerian Civil War or any of the other many global going on then.
Shoot you would be even more hardpress to find people who were aware of the global conflicts going on right now that aren't Israel-Palestine and Ukraine-Russia.
