I actually posted a story about this on here. Its about a girl from the Ukraine adopted with a condition that makes her appear like she is still a child. The family thought she was 6 bit turned out she was older.. much older. So they dumped her ass in an apartment.

She swears she was a kid when it happened but every now and then someone pops up like “that girl is a fucking scammer”

I also think she has issues, but they should have been prepared to deal with those issues. Those adopted parents were nuts and never should have a been allowed to adopt.

It’s not that any of this is a new to me, it is just hard not to react to it every single time I hear it - every story, every case.

Long story short, they have/had an idea of where to start looking into who really did it, but also, Wayne Williams is incapable of answering questions "Yes/No" so he's stuck being the only culprit.

It's good, I feel like it should be great and I'm not sure what is missing story wise. Maybe it's the constraints of Bass having been a real person. Oyelowo is great, so is Barry Pepper, Lauren Banks, etc..
And Sheridan didn't do his usual over heaping of misery on his characters. I mean there's plenty of conflict and fucked up things but he showed restraint in a good way. Still felt slightly lacking.. but good haha

A Murder at the End of the World - The biggest gamble with big mysteries is whether the Big Reveal pays off. As we watched this, the little lady's interest would come & go. I was pretty solidly into it. So when the Big Reveal happens, we kinda flipped. She ended up liking it a bit more than I did. I was fine with the ending but it didnn't knock me out. It didn't make me feel like I wasted my time but it wasn't anything that I expected.

Fool Me Once - Man, this one throws about 700 different things at you, right out the box. I had absolutely no idea where this was gonna end up. And when the ending finally hits, I was like "Oh Come On!!!"

Even tho it's a spinoff, Gen V might be a better show, simply because there are more female main characters which keeps the content from veering too far into that middle school white guy humor that's so prominent in The Boys.

met someone who was part of the production set. She could not say the specific name of the show and actors involved, but did divulge a little. Turns out it was True Detective.

Maybe some of it was filmed in Alaska, but I believe the majority was filmed in Iceland.

It's a romantic film that is weirdly wholesome and profound. Rated PG-13. At least half of it is in Korean, despite mostly taking place in NYC. Also a directorial debut for Celine Song--who is a 30 something playwright. I don't like knowing about the plots of movies, so I won't get into it. But if you get the chance to see this, then do it. It's like 5 dollars to stream.

It's basically a documentary on the making of We Are the World.

If you're a fan of that era it's a must-watch.

It really gave a peek into Quincy's talent as a mediator and traffic cop getting that song produced under those circumstances. I also learned how talented Lionel Richie was. I didn't know anything about the origins of that song and his significant role in its creation.

I'm a pretty big fan of Narcos.. at least the first 3 seasons, and Griselda Blanco is one of the most interesting crime figures ever, but this felt like a swing and a miss.

With Escobar they managed to make him a fascinating character to watch while recognizing what an absolute monster he was. The Chapo series did the same thing, this felt a little too sympathetic (for lack of a better word). Like she did some shit but they also seemed to want to hammer home how hard it was to be a girl-boss single mom in a male dominated business, and feeling bad about some of the things she had to do to achieve that. The way the real Griselda did that was to be a cold blooded certified monster.. so much that she terrified the other monsters. They tried to have it both ways here, and it doesn't really work imo

Pacing was also clunky as hell

but everyone else seems to like it so what do I know lol

I'd much rather watch Cocaine Cowboys.

Because it had been so long.
It made me dislike the series even more. Blown opportunity.

Heard great things about season two.

On Apple TV. 3 seasons. Binged all three.

character. However, the right actor was certainly picked for that role.

not nearly as good as Season 1. I still powered through. It wasn’t terrible, just didn’t live up to my expectations after the first season. Looks like it’s been green-lit for Season 3.

I was very much a Nickelodeon kid in the 90's and even though this focused on the stars that came about right as I was aging out of the network, it was still crazy to watch.

Damn shame the stuff that went down.

sad Quiet On The Set doc. This one represents my Nickelodeon years. The other doc starts around The Amanda Show years and I was on Disney then (Kim Possible and Jet Jackson, you know?). But "You Can't Do That on Television," "Pete & Pete," "Double Dare," "Guts," "Legends of the Hidden Temple" and "Dude Ranch" were my prime Nick years. I watched a little bit of "All That" before Amanda came around. I honestly didn't like her. I watched a bit of "Keenan & Kel" and the "Good Burger" movie was my "Friday" lol.

I am sorry to hear that stuff happened in that other doc. I didn't watch those shows though. I was grown by the time the main issue in the other doc was occurring. I hope the kids of my years had better experiences.

I pretty much love anything with Wendell Pierce though. I also love the detective that works with Elsbeth, she's the only person that's ever "got" her and they make a good team. I pretty much this was getting renewed after episode 2

Really, really strong followup from the creators of Game of Thrones.

I worry that it might be getting a bit of a bad rap because people who've read the books are so obsessive about it (my own post in PTP is notably over the top).

But it really is an exceptional story, a friends drama that turns into a mystery thriller that turns into probably the weirdest (but also one of the most realistic) science fiction stories you've ever seen.

The first few episodes lag a bit, but episodes 5-8 are dynamite! If they get the money for season 2 (which is sadly not a sure thing quite yet) it'll get even better, with some mind-blowing philosophy and the biggest and wildest space battle ever put to screen.

the science and philosophy is historically so bad in sci-fi (with notable recent exceptions)

I'm a fan of Viet Thanh Nguyen's books so I was hype this got made into a series.

We're only 3 episodes in but already, I'm not sure of the right way to discuss this show. It's been so bananas so far but in a really sad and frightening way.

I just finished episode 4.

This show was already messed up but episode 4 just multiplied all that by 1000. Just sick and twisted.

The woman said she couldn't do another Baby Reindeer episode after that. She turned on some Abbott Elementary and Ghosts.

I've come to the conclusion that this show really isn't about the stalking. Once you finish it, I think it becomes clear that this is about what happened to him and how deals (or doesn't) with it. I started off mad at him for continually making bad decisions in dealing with Martha. But we get to see exactly why he was that way.

It was tough to watch at times. But I think it shows how much damage survivors have to suffer through.

The woman who played Martha killed that role.

Which ruined the twist for me, because I never thought I'd watch it, but I ended up seeing it shortly after that and I was waiting for the twist the whole time.

I didn’t like that I could’t appreciate TER more in this film.

I enjoyed this a lot. Sure, there was instances of "That would never happen," and "There's no way anyone would do that." But they did a great job of keeping you guessing on what was coming next. You end up rooting for some characters that you may not have expected to like.

It's not one of the all time greats but it a very, very solid show. I'm hoping they decide to bring it back for one more season.

Everything that could go wrong, went terribly wrong. Season 2 was a little more subtle. But I really enjoyed them both.

by the leads even if it ended with a whimper.

Highly recommended if you like murder mystery's where everyone
is equally unlikable and thus equally likely to be the killer.

  I read the book and saw the Harrison Ford version around 30
years ago. I was a big Scott Turow fan and this series got me
jumping back to read his stuff that I missed. There's a sequel
involving Rusty & Tommy called "Innocent" that I
just put on hold at the library.

  Anyways...we wondered from the start whether this version
would follow the book. I won't spoil anything but I had a
slight suspicion on who the murderer would be in this series
and I was right.

  But this was a solid legal drama. I agree that most of the
main characters were unlikeable. The little lady said that she
wasn't sure whether she wanted Rusty to be convicted or not.
She kinda wanted everyone to lose in this series.

  Apparently, they're gonna do another season. I wonder if
it'll be a brand new story or will they use another one of
Turow's stories.

was cool for nostalgia reasons but so much of it was just them whining about how they didn't like being called the Brat pack

total hot mess of a movie.
I'm almost fascinated how a boston heist movie featuring such a great cast could be this bad

Interview With A Vampire series is much better 

Got bullied into watching these by my gf. IO seems like
outtakes of "The Martian" and
"Interstellar". Pretty interesting, by those
standards, even though it's kinda quiet and slow.

"Uglies" was hilariously predictable. I'm sure my gf
was getting pissed that I was calling out how basic the
writing was by guessing full conversations. I'm sure we'll
watch the sequels when they hit Netflix.

but I will watch the second half just like I watched the
second half of Rebel Moon.

Enjoying so far

I already knew what was going to happen, because it happened in real life, but I was full of anxiety watching it.

pretty good? felt like a lot of scenes were sloppily reverse engineered and the writing by and large was pedestrian. not much character development. tough to do in a short series like this with so many characters. many scenes felt mechanical, like a cut scene in a video game doing a data dump and justification to progressing to the next area/boss. i wasn't particularly compelled by the chris and emma storyline. wasn't invested in the italian side of the narrative either. the vampire plot was fascinating, would have watched a full series on that alone. whole series was skillfully shot on location, which drew me in initially. visually i felt like it hit a median between sicario and michael mann movies, particularly miami heat, which is right in my wheelhouse. series kind of read as a travelogue for the nefarious and wicked. appreciated the contrast of vivid acts of violence with the beautiful cinematography. i recommend watching it as it really sucked me in and was a fun ride but i doubt it holds up to repeat viewings as it's pretty shallow. A++ concept, B- execution

My girl liked it, but it wasn't for me. Probably the most
awkward "affair" movie I've seen.

Outside of the quality of the movie, this was the first time

definitley watch both. very eye opening and scary.

I really enjoyed The Apprentice and watched the documentary
about Roy Cohn too. 
There was another one realised the same year called
"Where's My Roy Cohn" - also good.
