After asking Discogs’ social media followers which albums are perfect from start to finish, it was easy to see which releases music fans think are the best albums of all time.

Music fans are always on the hunt for the best albums of all time, but what makes an album the best? If you asked 10 different people, you might get 10 different answers. It could be the overall atmosphere, the music, the lyrics, or how an album makes a person feel.

Or maybe it’s as simple as consistency. If every song on an album is great and you never feel the desire to skip a track, maybe that’s as close to perfection as you can get.

Discogs asked social media fans to share one album that they would rate 10 out of 10, no skips. Over 40,000 responses came in across Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. People shared albums that they consider flawless and showed support for other picks by “liking” people’s comments. The albums with the most “likes” were compiled and a list of the best albums was born! For the sake of a more dynamic list, popular artists with multiple releases were limited to one spot each.

Below, you’ll find 25 of the best albums of all time, according to the Discogs Community.

#1

The Dark Side Of The Moon

Pink Floyd

1973

The Dark Side Of The Moon is the most collected album on Discogs, so it’s no surprise that it received the most “likes” on social media and claimed the No. 1 spot. The album shows Pink Floyd at the height of their powers as they take the listener through a series of immersive soundscapes with elements of psychedelia, jazz fusion, blues rock, and prog.

13484959, i rarely get invested in these lists.
Posted by PROMO, Mon May-22-23 03:30 PM
this list will be another one i don't get invested in.

only thing i'll say is at first blush i was suprised about how many rap albums are here and near the top.

then, i thought about who really uses discogs that i know - crate diggers mostly - and i guess that sort of checks out.
