two things can be and are true: Netflix didn't negotiate in good faith, and Mo'Nique is not on the level (only talking draw, not talent - that's up for artistic debate) where she should expect to make what Chappelle and Chris Rock make. and, that was pretty much most people's argument about the whole thing. even though she won, and she's getting her moment with Netflix, she's STILL not going to command what those guys command.

lastly, if you're reading this Netflix: after his most recent one...maybe give Chris a little less next time LOL. and whatever you think to give Amy Schumer? just save it and give it to Mo'Nique or literally ANYONE else.

Settlements are not an indication of a win or an exoneration in any manner. It wouldn't have looked good for Netflix to double down and let it go further into the courts. Even if they won in court the backlash would have still been "big corporation vs a minority", it was a lose lose situation. It saved them the headache and makes sense to settle and just give her a special. What is your guess, $1-2M with a large chunk going to the lawyers?

It's been many moons since I've seen her do stand-up, but I remember her as being a good storyteller and is able to a use bit of self-deprecating humor as well.

I have to admit, Booger Stimuli's response is making a small part of me want to watch Monique's special to see if she truly curses to the extent of his response. A larger part of me doesn't want to be bothered; I have vague memories of watching her segment from the Queens of Comedy special years ago and I found her material to be way over the top and too crass.
