In terms of this incident with the girlfriend, I'll agree with you in terms of waiting things out.

Plus there is the minor off-hand chance these two folks that spoke against him could have an axe of envy or jealously to grind against Majors.

Being a bully and/or being abusive will catch up to you eventually though as I imagine Hollywood isn't that big and having negative relationships with cast and crew will eventually harm you, especially in terms of major studios wanting to invest major dollars in you.

The timing of all this is brutal because dude is right on the cusp of blowing up.
