Doesn’t freedom of the press demand that mere publication of racist or otherwise offensive material be allowed to continue? We don’t want the government banning books. You can learn good lessons from a bad book and I would therefore not support a boycott of Amazon over its sale of Mein Kampf for example.
But a famous person saying “”Mein Kampf” is an important book and if you ask if I mean the antisemitism I’m going to be coy and not give you an answer” is different. I might support a boycott of that individual.
(Not trying to totally accurately invoke the Irving situation since I don’t know the details).
