13471346, legit looks like the best one.
Posted by Reeq, Wed Oct-19-22 04:35 PM
the 'villain' has some real emotional gravity here.

i wonder if the usual audience will still support it with stallone and his bonehead ass brother constantly shitting on it.

13471354, Oh word?

13471379, Yeah and Irwin is producing a Drago pic as well.
Posted by spades, Thu Oct-20-22 09:24 AM
This seems like beef with Irwin that's spilling over to Creed. I do hope Stallone has SOME of the Rocky rights. If he doesn't that just seems wild to me.
13471380, yeah, I was just hoping there wasn't MBJ/Sly beef...
Posted by Dstl1, Thu Oct-20-22 09:28 AM
and there doesn't really seem to be. Frank is a known clown/asshole, who will do/say anything to be seen and heard. Guess them TruTv residuals getting smaller and smaller.
13471444, You see it.

Posted by legsdiamond, Mon Mar-06-23 04:19 PM
but his brother looks like he is focusing on the wrong target.
13480138, yah, Sly has said specifically who his beef is what...
Posted by Dstl1, Mon Mar-06-23 04:22 PM
Frank just saying shit for attention.
13480176, why did sly (officialslystallone) like franks post?

13480220, I'll hold my L, here...
Posted by Dstl1, Tue Mar-07-23 09:05 AM
I had read some article where Sly said he was beefing with old dude he sold the rights to, but that he'd rock with MBJ in the future, should there be a Creed 4 as long as dude didn't have anything to do with it.
13480175, sly liked the frank post attacking mbj.
Posted by Reeq, Mon Mar-06-23 07:48 PM

damn they flat out killed it.

glad to see the badmouthing from the stallones and the usual campaign from racist trolls didnt hurt its opening at all.
13480049, It puts the fan in a torn situation in regards to Stallone.
Posted by allStah, Sun Mar-05-23 09:53 PM
He made Rocky. He wrote, choreographed, acted and promoted the franchise,
and he doesn’t own any rights to the franchises, and Creed is a branch off
that franchise.

None of this would exist without Stallone, so I understand why he has a lot of discontent
with the movie and film studio.

MGM owns 100 percent of the rights of the Rocky franchise and he has approached
them a multitude of times about acquiring some type of ownership, and they shot him
down.

He doesn’t have anything personal against Jordan or any of the other actors,
but it is truly disheartening situation.

And you would hope that Coogler and Jordan are looking at it as being in the same
situation as Stallone when he first started, because they have given Adonis Creed an
identity , but they don’t own shit either.

13480058, I really felt bad for Stallone
Posted by legsdiamond, Mon Mar-06-23 09:33 AM
dude said “everyone told me there is no way you can make this movie in Hollywood and “keep it”

I would think someone with serious money would partner up with Stallone to get ownership.

Cost of doing business I guess
13480064, I kinda feel bad, but here is another way to think about it.
Posted by Buddy_Gilapagos, Mon Mar-06-23 09:54 AM
Stallone made Rocky, but Rocky also made Stallone. Every huge payday he earned after Rocky is because MGM made a bet on him and the movie he wrote. The alternative history is they could have bought his script, cast another actor, and Stallone wouldn't be where he is today. Stallone made a lot of money from that franchise and after despite ownership. He learned the lesson and made sure that it didn't happen again.

MGM made a bet on Ryan Coogler and Michael B Jordan. If Stallone was in charge of the franchise, we don't know if that would have happened. It's a big deal for a franchise to switch franchise player and who knows if Stallone would have given up the reigns like that. Like he tried the storyline of Rocky training a younger fighter and he chose Tommy Gunn. *shrugs*

13480075, I’m sure this is their argument as well
Posted by legsdiamond, Mon Mar-06-23 11:30 AM
but IMO writing a script AND starring in it AND crushing that shit is the reason why I feel bad for him.

I’m happy Creed happened for Blackness

I’m still made I was rooting for Rocky as a kid. I was duped.
13480089, What ? Are you torn over Frank Stallone taking shots at MBJ
Posted by Lurkmode, Mon Mar-06-23 12:03 PM

smh
13480114, where did he take shots at him directly?

Posted by Lurkmode, Mon Mar-06-23 10:45 PM

I knew I read it on the board. Well that answers the "directed" at MBJ question.
13480116, Frank Stallone is a known dickhead...
Posted by Dstl1, Mon Mar-06-23 02:25 PM
who only gets scraps based off his brother's name. Dude just talking shit in between gigs of World's Dumbest Criminals or some shit. A smooth nobody.
13480133, Damn.. I thought Frank was Sly Stallone’s government name
Posted by legsdiamond, Mon Mar-06-23 04:04 PM
its his brother?

thought dude was being funny by calling him Frank

That’s like being asked about Patrick Mahomes annoying brother tik toking

I bet Paulie’s character is inspired by Frank Stallone.
13480187, nobody remembers sly leaving ryan and mbj out of his speech
Posted by Reeq, Mon Mar-06-23 09:40 PM
when he won the golden globe for creed in 2016?

he *later* said he simply forgot and he made a joke about it when an award at another event and made sure to thank them.

but it seemed more like he reacted to the public backlash from folks like samuel l jackson and ava duvernay.

seriously how do you forget to thank the writer/director and the main character of the movie that delivered an award for you?

13480196, Dammmmmn
