I immediately think 'doooooon't you know I'M BOUT IT BABE!?'. That song was my jam. And being in Baton Rouge at the time, I thought it was hilarious to hear 'Bout it' getting thrown around on several R&B songs after No Limit and them became a thing.
RIP. 51? Man, I hate that I'm getting old enough to where when someone 'middle aged' dies, I'm like 'dangit, he isn't that much older than me!'

Like, explain what your love being bout it bout it even means.

It didn't matter. Cats were trying to find other ways to say 'my sex is a good time, please come and have some of it'.
Dudes weren't regularly wearing shirts, half-assed/not good dance routines were going down something fierce, and cats were splashing puddles and shit in the videos. And singing next to the coochie was big business too. Almost everyone got roped into double-time singing on at least one song. It was all out of hand and absurd. And great. So many jams from that time. I'm glad so many of these folks are at least showing up occasionally and acting a fool/doing performances. 50 year old dudes showing up somewhere singing about having wonderful sex with somebody with people's 57 year old aunties thirstily being all about it is always gonna be wonderful to me.

Damn. 51 is mad young.
I went back and listened to that "Bout It" album again. I remember having it back in college. It had a strong 3-song run of slow jams with "You Should Know," "You're the One I Love," and "You."
RIP.

13468800, Rest In Power To Jesse Powell Posted by Dj Joey Joe, Thu Sep-15-22 11:46 PM
I was shocked to hear about his death when a friend sent me a message about it, I did a search but nothing says how he died or what he died of, cause him dying at 51 seems kind of young to me.
Anyway I didn't know he was the older brother of the female duo Trina & Tamara.
