background: majority Black town / city. northeast. the white ppl i went to school with were the ones that couldn't get out. surrounded by more white towns, cities. (nj is wild segregated).

political affiliation: dem. but i don't love these hoes.

political philosophy: pragmatic progressivism.

- voted for hillary but can't really stand her ass. she was eminently qualified, and easily the better choice. and yes, i itoldyouso anybody who says both parties are the same any chance i can get.

- speaking of clintons, i voted for bill, second time. (first time i wrote in ron daniels or some shit, but i was in MD so it didn't make a difference). i'm in a purple state now, so i gotta bang blue unless someone is actively murdering kids

- don't fuck with bernie at all. every now and then he says some good shit. but he had no chance in the general and couldn't even win the primary. my main beef w/ the lefty left is that they think class trumps everything, which is 180 away from the entirety of US history and pre-history. i agree with a lot of lefty left shit, but anyone out here thinking that economic populism is really gonna get the ear of PWTs and drown out their ingrained racism is living in a different reality.

- biden is... eh. infinitely better than the alternative. it was an old ass whiteman pokemon battle. he was the best play. he getting some shots up now, and good for him. fuck bipartisanship. there is no good faith to be found on the other side. put a nice face on it, if you must. but fuck republicans. that said, realpolitik means we have to work around assholes like manchin and sinema (and as much as you/we hate them, lemme tell you about what joe lieberman was to obama's agenda). kick them in the balls behind closed doors (to the extent possible). and try to get more dems in office to make them irrelevant.

somebody came up to me at an event and asked me to sign a green party petition.

me: sure. for what race?
them: senate
me: the SENATE senate? in NORTH CAROLINA??? lol. thanks, but get the entire fuck outta here.

local elections? shit. mayor? county commissioners? go for yours. i'll sign and might vote. but the senate, as much of a razor's edge we're on and this is a purple state? that's asinine.

i'm fully aware of malcolm's philosopy, vis a vis registering as independent. but those were dramatically different times. i register dem and try to push candidates to the left as much as possible. but sitting out, or voting red on some protest shit is directly empowering people who are actively trying to dehumanize me.
