They’ve been showing The Color Purple on tv a lot lately, and if you’ve seen it(if you haven’t turn in your black card) you remember the scene near the end “God is trying to tell you something” why where they at the juke joint on a Sunday morning?

A couple of weeks ago I asked my dad where he was at when he heard mlk got assasinated. He said him, his brother and my granddad were on their way to the juke joints in Mason, Tn. It came on the radio. They continued on their way and partied like it was 1999. He also said Gis's is juke joint chicken, so juke joint "brunch" aint really that far fetched if niggas got money to spend.
