They are more than just comedians. They are individuals of the black community, and their images are representations of that community.
That type of behavior or communication is not something that should be championed or propagated. Blacks calling other blacks coons, and verbally debasing each other is a negative reflection on black culture. It’s a total embarrassment, but our own people soak it up as entertainment, regardless of how it keeps up segregate within our own culture.
And yes they are elders, and yes they are guiders of their profession, just like the Murphys, Pryors, Wilsons, and Foxx that came before them.
