over the pandemic. Those who know me know Im not a big drinker, but It was something to do with a good friend of mine I spend a lot of time with. Hunting bottles is a fun past time - along with tasting and enjoying the spirits.

If I drink on weekdays, its a 1-1.5 oz pour just so I can taste and appreciate it. I/m not trying to get lit or even nice.

I started off with a couple Japanese Bottles and Bourbon (cause thats what my boy likes), and slowly expanded to Irish -- which is my favorite all around because of how well balanced it is and the value you get compared to Bourbon and Scotch. You can get a really really good bottle of Irish Whiskey for $60-85 pretty easily. I then started playing with Scotch cause that what folks from Thailand drink, and came full circle back to Bourbon and other American Whiskeys cause the market has so many people innovating. At the end of the summer I started trying nicer rums and ended up in Barbados where I got several bottles. I have to still explore all the regions of Scotland.

My boy who I drink with has a lot of the American classic bottles folks search for -- some Weller, Bookers, etc.

What ive learned is that for me ---$70-$130 seems to be the sweet spot on what is good/want to pay. Ive had pours of bottles that are more expensive -- and its more about the hunt/chase and rarity vs how much better it tastes. I can often taste the difference in value liquor under $50/bottle. Irish and Rum have a lot of value, though that seems to be changing quick. Its a market you may want to explore if you want to be ahead of the curve. Also starting to mess with mezcal.

My current collection is below
