I usually save up all the horror genre stuff until October, and here we are. Post what you are watching.

13444143, Fear Street Part 1: 1994 is much better than I expected
Posted by SuiteLady, Fri Oct-08-21 02:32 PM
13444146, whole series is fun even if it is a little long
Posted by BrooklynWHAT, Fri Oct-08-21 02:57 PM
i grew up on the Fear Street books so I was hoping they adapted specific stories from it. but I liked what they did capturing the overall spirit of the books. it was a really fresh take on it.

i still hope they do a series at one point w/ the actual Fier/Fear lore from the books because its good stuff.
13444157, Part 2 was better than part 1. On to 3 ….
Posted by SuiteLady, Fri Oct-08-21 06:47 PM
13444181, Part 3 was not good and it actually confused me about the overall story.

There were some head scratchers too. Like, how did Deena heal from her wound. It was like the ending of part 1 never even happened. And Sarah coming after the person who's blood her bones came in contact with, didn't square with the Goode family being the cause of the killing sprees.
13444332, You missed a few things sis...

I don't remember the healing thing so I'd have to rewatch to clear that up for you (I watched the series over the summer) but the second part was clear...Sarah wasn't coming for the person who's blood her bones came in contact with. She was trying to get them to help her...to show them the truth. Most of part II was a flashback based on the bone touching...to show the truth.

The Goode family sent goons once they figured out the person was trying to help. So the story never got out. If Sarah showed them the truth and they tried to expose the Goodes, their whole facade falls down. So the Goode family was conveniently killing anyone who got even remotely close to the actual truth...that their family were the ones dealing with the Devil and Sarah wasn't actually a witch.
13444151, Evil Dead 2 and the It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown

Funny scary.

Melancholy scary.

That's all I plan on watching
13444310, Midnight Mass Netflix
Posted by spades, Mon Oct-11-21 01:01 PM
Interesting little limited series. Some good scares, but the show seems to exist in a world where the thing that it is about has never been seen or heard of before.

A little weird....
13444903, I’m on episode 5 and like it so far…
Posted by SuiteLady, Fri Oct-15-21 07:50 PM
13444923, Spoke too soon! After episode 5 it was a drag and I see what
Posted by SuiteLady, Sat Oct-16-21 09:51 AM
you were saying.
13444340, Me and my daughters are moving through Sweet Home on Netflix
Posted by auragin_boi, Mon Oct-11-21 03:31 PM
I thought about Midnight Mass but I wasn't getting a good vibe on its potential from the trailer. Since it's gotten some support here, I might check it out.

We've gone through:
Malignant
Escape Room 2
Quarantine (I'd seen it before but they hadn't, surprisingly good for a few jump scares)

On Deck:
New Candyman
Don't Breathe 2
New Season of Locke and Key on Netflix (10/22)
The Resort
World War Z might get a revisit

Thinking about doing 1-2 of these:
Incarnate
The Vatican Tapes
Deliver us From Evil
The Rite
The Possession
The Possession of Hannah Grace

I told them they couldn't watch Exorcist (GOAT horror film IMO) until next year in High School so this would be an intro for them lol
13444356, The Thing (1982) is so much better that The Thing (2011), but
Posted by SuiteLady, Mon Oct-11-21 07:10 PM
I watched both in Sunday
13444358, All three are great and 2011 was surprisingly good
Posted by rdhull, Mon Oct-11-21 07:20 PM
>I watched both in Sunday
13444359, None of the services I have are streaming the 1951 one :(

13444524, The Thing (1982) is my SHIT
Posted by Bambino Grande, Wed Oct-13-21 03:05 AM

I chuckled when I learned it was a big inspiration for Tarantino when he made Hateful Eight, I can see that

13444546, 2011 was much better than I thought it was going to be.
Posted by spades, Wed Oct-13-21 10:10 AM
but yes 1982 is one of the GOAT horror flicks.
13444360, That first half of American Horror Story S10 was good!!
