13441710, Obscure references that Nas makes Posted by FLUIDJ, Fri Sep-10-21 12:52 PM
KDII got me thinking about how Nas stay making semi obscure references in his lyrics and I really appreciate it. He will say some stuff that if you know you KNOW or you're at least gonna "get it" .... For example...he's got a track on KDII called Phony Love with Uncle Charlie doing the hook (splendidly as usual)...
"Life is not what you harp on or what you go through She boppin' her shoulders like the darkest one in Total"
^^^^^ I LOVE when he drops random lyrics like that! lol.... Got me out here trying to zero in on which Total video Pamela(? is she?) is going off in the hardest lol...
On the last album he had that random line " And what the fuck is up with Gayle King??" lol...
I'm about to do a deep dive...
"Get ready....for your blessing....." "Bury me by my Grand-Grand and when you can come follow me"

13441766, I Like His Random Lines That He Injects Without Connection Posted by Dj Joey Joe, Fri Sep-10-21 11:00 PM
Sometimes I think he wants to go into that line more with a few others but probably edits them later cause he wants to keep the verse under 16 or 32 bars.
