1. wasting the opportunity to exert/leverage the power that you have in that household
2. not communicating your needs clearly
combine those 2 things and I think you have a great opportunity to shift the dynamic so you can have some more of what you need for yourself in your home...whether its space, quiet, whatever
but when you solely focus on the gender dynamics, you're missing the opportunity that you have...your vision is clouded
