I'm speaking specifically about the interview they did about her abuse. It aired on the first night and was horribly uncomfortable.

It was way too soon to be spotlighting that situation, and felt clear to me something she was forced into rather than having come to peace and wanted to make public.

The whole setup for the team this year was awkward as fuck, and clearly the studio narrative they wanted with little regard for the players themselves. Considering they were complicit in creating the culture in which the abuse happened to begin with, they were attempting to use her and the team's story to redeem themselves and it disgusted me.

I believe it is this mental pressure that broke Simone and I am glad she was able to pull herself out of it. I hope she continues to heal and finds her own peace.
