The old school downtube shifters were a bit challenging at first, but I honestly didn't know a lot about gearing in general. Now I feel super comfortable and I love climbing hills. Out here in Oakland we have some ridiculous grades, 15-25%. I can go on a quick lunch ride and easily hit 1k ft climbing in under 10 miles.
I just did a 70mi ride this past Saturday. Planning for ~90mi over 3 days on roadtrip this weekend.
