Hobbies in general just fell by the wayside. Biking is probably the only one I was able to flip into something still practical to fit into the parent lifestyle.

As they're getting older...and old enough to ride....I foresee it becoming something less utilitarian again.

For instance, copped our 8-year old her first brand new bike that's closer to a "grown-up" bike now that she's in the height range where she shouldn't outgrow it at least until middle school (hopefully).
