13433352, I'm out here looking for some Deet products for summer camp.....
Posted by FLUIDJ, Fri May-21-21 06:11 AM

"Bury me by my Grand-Grand and when you can come follow me"

13433349, Sniggering
Posted by ProgressiveSound, Fri May-21-21 03:37 AM
Apparently that’s used to refer to “snickering” (suppressed laughter) here in the UK
I don’t like that

I read it in a major article recently exposing Noel Clarke
13433353, UK stay on some foul grammer shit...think they can get away with it because
Posted by FLUIDJ, Fri May-21-21 06:12 AM
they sound so fresh when they talk....
we see through all that boo boo though...

"Get ready....for your blessing....."

13433396, not a word but a name. Karl Heinz Rummenigge
Posted by BrooklynWHAT, Fri May-21-21 12:18 PM
it bugs me listening to soccer podcasts that the correct pronunciation is basically Room-a-nigger (to help yall hear it in your head) and most of these soccer pods are led by white men. i always do a double take every time i hear it.
13433413, NOt sure if it fits the general spirit of this, but "my guy"
Posted by Cold Truth, Fri May-21-21 02:40 PM
It's always some 20-40 year old white dude, either on some hipster shit, some dude with mad hair gel, etc.

It just comes off as "trying", for lack of a better term, and it's just corny as fuck IMO.
13433414, Depends on the context to me. If you are referring to
Posted by Cenario, Fri May-21-21 03:03 PM
your guy that performs a service...mechanic, barber etc. It works. Like "go see my guy, he'll hook you up"
13433420, Not that one. "What's good, MY GUY?"
Posted by Cold Truth, Fri May-21-21 04:00 PM
I agree with you in the context you presented.

If someone says, "that's my guy right there" or "I got a guy for____", that doesn't irk me at all.

It's when I'm at a store or whatever, and they say "What's good, my guy", though it's more annoying when it's in a social setting and not a business setting. It happens fairly often in stores or restaurants, not so much socially.

"Boss" is another one, but it's less unlikable than "my guy". I don't like those terms in general- Hon is mildly annoying to me, as are most forms of it. Honey, sweety, sweetheart, etc.

All that shit makes me mentally roll my eyes, but "my guy" in that context is the worst of the bunch, I think, with the exception of waitresses who like to add the physical contact.

None of it's really a big deal, just a superficial pet peeve.
13433443, Yeah i agree...along with boss and chief
Posted by Cenario, Fri May-21-21 08:35 PM
13433423, i can see that. its meant to be overly familiar
Posted by BrooklynWHAT, Fri May-21-21 04:02 PM
its just some bro-y college shit tho. just like the boss thing you said in the other post. i dont really trip off of it cause i talk to my friends like that anyway.
13433424, Yeah I can't stand that shit lmao
Posted by Cold Truth, Fri May-21-21 04:17 PM
>its just some bro-y college shit tho.

This. I don't like this. I'm good with the term "bro"- unless it's coming from an actual Bro, which is a type of person I generally don't fuck with, though there have been exceptions.
13433425, this reminded me, "mija" really irks me
Posted by mista k5, Fri May-21-21 04:28 PM
especially in a work environment.
13433438, Mijo/mija/chico/chica/mami/papi don't sit well with me.
Posted by JFrost1117, Fri May-21-21 07:46 PM
From certain people. Might as well go ahead and say "bad hombre".
13433521, This one time, back when I rode a motorcycle, I was in Bethesda
Posted by FLUIDJ, Mon May-24-21 06:32 AM
Parking in one of the public garages….
I got off the motorcycle and out the blue from afar I heard a woman say
“Oooohhh, nice bike Papi!”

Won’t front…that shit felt gooder than a mug lol……

That’s the only time I’ve ever been addressed in such a fashion…but the boost was appreciated lol.

13434058, by who though?
Posted by Mynoriti, Sun May-30-21 12:50 PM
used to have boss who was late 50s, mexican, and she'd call all us younger people mijo and mija. She was just motherly in her nature, so it was just endearing.
13434192, i think in a work setting it is equally troubling
Posted by mista k5, Tue Jun-01-21 03:57 PM
doesnt matter who says it to who. its less bothersome if its family/close friends and maybe less bothersome for a woman to say it than a man.

thats just my point of view though.
13434217, you're too uptight, bro lol
Posted by Mynoriti, Tue Jun-01-21 07:00 PM
13434056, ha. i tend to associate 'my guy' with Desus & Mero
Posted by Mynoriti, Sun May-30-21 12:41 PM
don't think i've ever heard it irl
13433454, whore
Posted by stylez dainty, Sat May-22-21 11:19 AM
I'm starting to think only a certain kind of person uses that word in any context, comedic or otherwise.
13433547, really awful word.

Posted by legsdiamond, Mon May-24-21 03:18 PM
I know that one because the wife is a choreographer and most gays use it jokingly.

13434059, other than women playfully talking shit to each other
Posted by Mynoriti, Sun May-30-21 12:52 PM
i can't think of any other context that's not completely shitty and negative.
