You got one time to act like I'm not a priority.

Won't be a 2nd chance. Hope it was worth it.

I am waving the white flag and pushing my chips in. The biggest challenge is getting my dogs on the plane at this point. Once I crack that code, and go on all the trips I have tentatively planned for the year, it's very possible that I will bid the US adieu.
13429250, the fuck you think you gon' do..cept hustle!?

Posted by Damali, Wed Apr-07-21 10:53 AM
we should connect and support each other cuz i'm trying to do the same

there's info and tips and research we could all be sharing with each other...how to connect with american expats in other places, etc

we will need a support system of some sort once we leave

Specific to black folk would be my ideal because, obviously, some of the considerations are different.

But YES.

Somehow I havent jumped off a cliff or offed myself so kudos to me.

My bank closes on the 8th but few alternatives exist that replicateb100% of Simple's features.

Willing to bet money or crypto we see a spike in births within 4 years of the coronavirus ending.

Ordered my first skateboard!

My final confession is my upcoming fuckery reign of terror will be great.
13429273, My nephew (my sister's only son) was shot in Orlando yesterday
Posted by Damali, Wed Apr-07-21 11:01 AM
thankfully, he survived..he's 25

some random road rage situation in Orlando

words were exchanged at red light (i think), then at the next light, the guy pulled up alongside the car, shot twice into the door, then sped off

cops are looking for him etc

my nephew made it through surgery and is recovrering today..my sister is there with him..he's in alot of pain, traumatized..a good samaritan, a Black woman, likely saved his life by treating his wound until ambulance arrived..

i was there when he was born...to think if that dude had better aim..i just..sigh

i'm a bit of a mess today knowing how lucky he got

13429274, Yikes. I'm glad he survived.

We have family in Orlando and it's always been the wild west for that group.
They've forever lived between colonial, orange bloosom, the 408, and highway 4.
13429278, goodness, I'm glad he made it through...
Posted by Dstl1, Wed Apr-07-21 11:27 AM
the thought of young life lost is so heartbreaking to me. I know I sound naive, but it's mind-blowing to me, how little a human life means to some people. Like...you are willing to take a life/effectively end your own over THAT? No thought to how many lives you are affecting in that moment. How did we get here?
13429280, Ugh.
Posted by soulpsychodelicyde, Wed Apr-07-21 11:32 AM
So sorry to hear but glad he made it through surgery. Am pulling for a full and speedy recovery.
13429289, prayers yo
Posted by legsdiamond, Wed Apr-07-21 11:52 AM
I tell my wife all the time to chill on the road rage or throwing up a finger.

People are crazy af these days and they get real bold when in a vehicle doe some reason.
13429331, sorry to hear that, glad he survived

13429326, There’s at least two families in this neighborhood that have golf carts.
Posted by MEAT, Wed Apr-07-21 04:16 PM
1. Have you seen the price of golf carts?
2. That’s the most absurd suburban white people stuff
3. Not that they own golf carts, but that just drive it around the neighborhood nightly the way people go for walks

Everything about this neighborhood feels weird like people inventing social norms out of the blue.

Cats roaming free, RV’s parked in front of houses for a month, setting up lounge chairs in the driveway

If the houses were 100k cheaper all of this behavior would be chalked up to the poor. But put a house in the suburbs and people get up on their self deception about class.
13429329, A former friend of mine used to have one, drove it the same way
Posted by Cold Truth, Wed Apr-07-21 05:20 PM
It had no real use other than that it was "cool".

It was basically a surburban, suburban, I make middle management money floss.

I once hung out with him and some of his friends, and my mind was blown.

They started talking about lawn mowers.

My brain exploded when, in the whitest white guy moment I've ever witnessed, one of them lustilly said of this one lawnmower he'd seen somewhere:

"It was SOOOOOOOO SIIIIIICK DUDE"

People say white people have no culture. I disagree. Because that's white culture as far as I can tell.
13429385, Golf carts are the primary mode of transportation in coastal towns
Posted by legsdiamond, Thu Apr-08-21 07:04 AM
I’m surprised it isn’t more than 2 families

in Southport everyone has a golf cart. I’m talking the pimped out 6 seat joints.

No idea how much they cost.

99.9% of the people who have them are white.

13429393, Sir. We are 140 miles from the nearest coast
Posted by MEAT, Thu Apr-08-21 08:06 AM
13429389, Thank you for fcking up my Google algorithm searching for golf cart

13429491, lmao.. I thought they were cheap
Posted by legsdiamond, Thu Apr-08-21 03:13 PM
I would never buy one new.

I think this is people's way of going EV on the "cheap"

13429394, my aunt's fam has one just to drive to the pool in their subdivision
Posted by BrooklynWHAT, Thu Apr-08-21 08:21 AM
shit cracks me up. i always take it out to smoke blunts whenever I visit.
13429399, When the weather is better I run the neighborhood
Posted by MEAT, Thu Apr-08-21 08:34 AM
I have to repeat sections to hit a mile.
Nothing here is more than a five minute walk, the houses and yards aren't that pretty either
13429422, There's a brother in our neighborhood with one...
Posted by Marbles, Thu Apr-08-21 10:15 AM

This golf cart is loaded with speakers. I don't know where he lives but I see/hear him around the neighborhood kinda regularly. And his speakers are bangin'.

13429499, can't front. they make them look fun in my MIL's town
Posted by legsdiamond, Thu Apr-08-21 03:44 PM
my MIL stunted on them tho.. she got a used Smart Car for her "golf cart"

and its fun as shit to drive.

when I retire in a coastal town.. prolly in the same house, lol.. I will drive one around town to go get my brew and shit.

13429579, School just messaged about my daughter and masks
Posted by MEAT, Fri Apr-09-21 10:29 AM
And she absolutely should not be acting up and we will handle that this weekend. But you don't have this problem when you follow the CDC guidelines that everyone over 2 should be masked up when around other people.

Right now she's in a class of 3 to 4.5's and she's the only one that wears masks outside of the teachers.

The Message:
Hi parents! I would like to bring to your attention the struggles we’ve been having with --- and her mask. She’s had a runny nose for a little bit now so when we are able to see her nose, we wipe it. Since we are not able to see her nose until she takes her mask off, she hasn’t asked us to wipe it or hasn’t taken the initiative to wipe it herself, instead she wipes it on her mask. Then throughout the day she will take her mask off and shove it in her mouth and suck on it like it’s a pacifier. When we redirect her and show her how to properly wear a mask, she either 1. Ignores us or 2. Just laughs and runs away. She has also been throwing fits when asked to keep her mask on. She will usually start screaming and crying while saying “I don’t want to wear my mask. I can’t breathe in it”. We then try to calm her down, speak to her about her mask, and show her how we have to wear ours all day without touching them. With that being said, it has become a major distraction for her and the kids in her class. These are some of the things we’ve been experiencing with her in class and thought we’d bring it to your attention. If you have any tips for us about how we can get her to keep her mask on (or just no longer wearing it), we will be more than happy to hear them! Thank you! Ms.---- (the opening assistant teacher)

13429924, one of the reasons I don’t think its good for kids to go back yet
Posted by legsdiamond, Mon Apr-12-21 06:09 PM
its just not possible to keep mask on kids at that age.

My kids are good about putting a mask on but wearing it properly? The 5 year old does it but the 3 year old? nope

just hoping we turn the corner with her before pre-K in the fall.
