13428605, I you have an unused video card - sell that shit NOW!!!! (PSA)

My friend had two old - but not too old - video cards laying around and he offered me a commission to sell them.

Nvidia 1660 Super - Sold USED for $490 locally in 2 hours. That's more than it retailed for new and it would have been worth like $250 in November.

Nvidia GTX980 4BG - Sold for $250 locally in half a day. That would have been a $125 max in November.

People not being able to get the new hot cards AND the fact that Bitcoin went nuts AND the stimulus checks are hitting - it's time to sell.
13428672, Meh. I'm getting nothing for my 7870XT

I just want a new 30 series card to actually use for gaming. I'm not paying a scalper over retail. The worst timing to need an upgrade.
13428704, Are people still building pc’s? Is there beef between PC gamers...

and the gaming console community? I’m not a member of either at this point that’s just what I heard
13428715, Still building pc’s? Absolutely

I'd say it spiked pretty well through the pandemic between people needing a PC to work from home (and not liking or finding one at a store) and people wanting to play games whilst stuck inside. There's been a slew of new product released this year that instantly sells out either online (the bot game is a serious problem) or in store. Couple that with the global chip shortage and the mining resurgence you have the best and worst time to build a computer

As far as console vs. PC master race, it's not quite Hatfields and McCoys, but people are still ride or die for their camps
13428720, I heard some console gamers say PC guys cheat lol...

(well, there are cheaters that employ things like wallhacks/aimbots/etc).

...but on something where there is cross platform play like Warzone, PC gamers definitely have the overall advantage because you can just do more on PC than you can on console.

the keybinds you can set on pc allow you to do things you can't do with a controller AND you can fine tune your settings to give you advantages in ways that you can't on a console.

that said, it still takes skill, knowledge, etc. to be good, and there are console gamers that consistently do well.
