The show got much better in the following segment
Observations;
The WAP performance was easily the low point IMO
Cardi looked completely uncomfortable and the metallic made outfit was not sexy atall
I fell tf out at Silk Sonic
IDK why, but the carpet made me LOL
I love the commitment
Brittany Howard was easily the performance of the night
...and then they give awards in her category to people like Taylor Swift...
An inspirational song about perseverance in these trying times should have won easily over a song about a cardigan
The Billie Ellish thing with Meghan...was really uncomfortable to watch
You don’t think you deserve an award, withdraw
Going on and on about Meghan...was just...weird af

Other than that, I thought it was a good show overall
As has been pointed out, definitely a difference from live to pre-recorded performances
But it didn’t detract too much from the whole show

The academy stays f’n up with these awards though.
