Pretty refreshing for this type of show in general but also just coming out of this whole weird year and seeing most people didn't learn anything about empathy for other people but actually got worse...despite all the darkness of this show, it weirdly left me feeling good about people and community in a weird way.


That said, there DID wind up being a LOT of red herrings and lplot points that felt big and revelatory at the time that this show actually had no interest in other than hitting a dramatic beat in a given episode. So as a murder mystery/kidnapping show it's not in the upper upper echelon, but it's a great example of how TV can just tell you a good, novel-like story and really put you in another world for a few hours without trying to upend the entire medium the way so many post-Sopranos/Wire shows do.
