13418007, Give it up for Nore & Pharrell g**dammnit. DRINK CHAMPS
Posted by Bambino Grande, Mon Dec-28-20 01:15 PM

This fool had Skateboard P drunk as hell by the end, lmao

P: You know, when Da Vinci painted the Mona Lisa...

Nore: That was HARD

Good talk

https://youtu.be/G428QHmd-gk
13418008, 3 hours? Smh.
Posted by DJR, Mon Dec-28-20 01:34 PM
*fast forwards to the end to see Pharrell drunk.

I had a run where I was watching this but it’s just too long and got too frustrating.
13418009, Everytime I seen one last this long, Nore is sooo f'ed up at the end
Posted by Bambino Grande, Mon Dec-28-20 01:39 PM

Doing shots and smoking blunts + applauding for 3 hours straight lmao

This one and the Scott Storch one went long too, and Nore is just a blabbering incoherent mess by the end
13418011, I've never watched it. I just catch the podcast.
Posted by Cold Truth, Mon Dec-28-20 01:55 PM
Personally, I love it. It does have it's issues for me.

I don't give a rats ass about anything DJ EFN says, and Nore interrupts too much at times.

That said, this is still a fantastic podcast.
13418095, I like it....I’m glad it exists. I just need a break from it
Posted by DJR, Tue Dec-29-20 01:39 PM
It gets tiring, I guess. I’ll probably go back to it eventually.
13418010, I cannot imagine listening to NORE for hours. especially drunk
Posted by CherNic, Mon Dec-28-20 01:41 PM
13418012, Mostly pharrell talking lol. Nore toned it down for this one
Posted by Bambino Grande, Mon Dec-28-20 01:57 PM

You can tell he has massive respect for Pharrell
13418013, nore might be the worst interviewer in all of podcasting.
Posted by Reeq, Mon Dec-28-20 01:57 PM
13418014, The most professional, unprofessional podcast! (c)
Posted by Bambino Grande, Mon Dec-28-20 02:15 PM

I've only checked out 4 eps but he gets some funny stories out of his guests, goes a bit beyond / outside the usual round of questions and thats cool

But yeah no he's a mess lol

13418019, I probably like him better as a host than his actual rapping
Posted by Adwhizz, Mon Dec-28-20 03:02 PM
He'd be terrible if he was trying to interview people on CNN or something but his show works because he usually knows the guests very well and is able to get them to open up
13418025, This is the reason why this P interview > Rick Rubin's P interview
Posted by Bambino Grande, Mon Dec-28-20 03:41 PM

>his show works because he usually knows the
>guests very well and is able to get them to open up

Pharrell on broken record (RR's podcast) was the same ol' answering the same ol' questions he's been asked for 20 years

On Drink Champs they actually talked about a bunch of stuff I've never heard before, so yeah Nore definitely got em open
13418050, I haven't listened to a whole thing in while, but
Posted by tariqhu, Mon Dec-28-20 08:46 PM
there were times when I felt like he didn't know enough and didn't try researching before they came on. plus the interruptions and giving flowers comments 75 times per show.

I can take him in snippets, but otherwise, I agree with Reeq. Now Talib....that's a great interviewer.
13418064, my exact thoughts.
Posted by Reeq, Tue Dec-29-20 07:21 AM
theres only but so many lets give it up/lets make some noise/give your flowers/lets take it back/hold up/i just wanna make sure i heard that correctly/etc i can take EVERY episode.

the best interviewers/podcasters just guide the guest toward topics and then get out of their way so they are free to just let their words/thoughts loose. nore likes to be the exact opposite of that at times lol.

and yeah...when dude has on someone he isnt personally connected to or intimately knowledgeable of...he doesnt even give them the courtesy of doing basic research outside of using wikipedia to come up with like 2 questions lol. ‘i did not know that...’

hes a difficult listen in general for me. these 3 hour plus joints are a hard nah. ive tried it more times than i should have and just feel frustrated to the point that the few gems dropped dont pay off enough.

it sucks because these are the type of guests i really wanna hear from and they dont do many other formats with the same level of comfort and openness.
13418085, Agree re: Talib. His show has been great.
Posted by Brew, Tue Dec-29-20 10:57 AM
His questions are a little long, and he has a tendency to pepper each question with a personal anecdote just so you don't forget who he is lol.

But other than that I think he does a great job. And I don't even think the above is necessarily a bad thing, just can be annoying at times.

But yea - once he asks a question he's out of the way, and just sort of nods and goes "mm" while guests pause trying to think of the next thing they were going to say. Gives them room to breathe.

Plus he has dope guests.
13418120, he does tend to interject himself lol.
Posted by tariqhu, Tue Dec-29-20 06:03 PM
I'm cool with that as, to me, it shows that he's somehow related to the story or has a round about connection. it's even better when he's doing it as a fan of his guest. like being at someone's concert.

but yeah, he let's them come and talk. the stories are much better that way.
13418131, Yea ! Exactly. Not really a complaint just an observation.

Right exactly. I'd rather have him ask a longwinded question where he relates it to himself than constantly interrupt like Nore and so many others do. He'll ask a 45 second question then give them however long they need to answer without any interruption at all. I'm good with that.

And like you touched on, his anecdotes are worthy of mention most of the time especially when he's coming at it as a fan (the story about how he basically stalked Common for the Respiration collab comes to mind lol), and they add levity to the guests' stories. And frankly as a veteran of the game with some well-respected, undeniable classics under his belt, he deserves to flex on his own podcast lol.
13418055, he's gotten better
Posted by Nopayne, Tue Dec-29-20 01:04 AM
Last time I checked it out, the audio was unlistenable.
13418093, But it works!

Life is Good.
13418017, I really wanna watch the Goodie Mob ep
Posted by CIPHA, Mon Dec-28-20 02:38 PM
But I really gotta get drunk to listen to NORE for longer than 10 mins.
13418026, I’m gonna wait for them to cut out some clips.
Posted by JFrost1117, Mon Dec-28-20 03:55 PM
I love the Mob, but 4 hours is a big commitment.

Their podcast with T.I. was at least cut into 2 episodes.
13418049, half way through, and it's worth it-
Posted by kinetic94761180, Mon Dec-28-20 08:10 PM
gipp is a real one.
13418202, I’m at the 2hr mark, and I’ve enjoyed it all.
Posted by JFrost1117, Wed Dec-30-20 03:41 PM
I never made it to the Dungeon, but this is reminiscent of sitting around them at Stankonia.
13418054, the ones that ive seen lately that impressed me were busta,
Posted by mikediggz, Tue Dec-29-20 12:46 AM
tragedy (and conway), and cormega...all good eps. the tragedy one was great because they addressed some long standing issues they had way back. conway was a pretty good interview too, i wasnt really too familiar with him so it was cool to hear his story.

>But I really gotta get drunk to listen to NORE for longer

It is a classic collection of stories.
13418062, Is he still interrupting niggas every 10 minutes?
Posted by Mafamaticks, Tue Dec-29-20 06:09 AM
I see he be having good guests on but I can’t take that shit.
13418063, Like I typed above, feels like he toned it down for Pharrell
Posted by Bambino Grande, Tue Dec-29-20 07:12 AM

13418068, RE: Give it up for Nore & Pharrell g**dammnit. DRINK CHAMPS
Posted by Mgmt, Tue Dec-29-20 08:42 AM
Just FYI, Marc Maron is just as bad in regards to some a these aspects y’all are whining about.

Personally, I’m so happy there’s a raw, open forum for hiphop stories - free of charge - that I don’t care about polish.

13418070, Yeah I'm a big fan of P and this was one of the better interviews
Posted by Bambino Grande, Tue Dec-29-20 09:14 AM

I've seen

He was relaxed and open and talked about a bunch of stuff he hasn't been asked before, kudos to DC for that
13418121, is there a single marc maron interview
Posted by Rjcc, Tue Dec-29-20 06:09 PM
that includes three hours of pouring, glasses clinking and burping?

I don't listen to dude like that, so maybe he does it too

www.engadgethd.com - the other stuff i'm looking at
13418087, when they get a legend, the show is fantastic
Posted by Tiger Woods, Tue Dec-29-20 11:11 AM
the Lil Wayne one is awesome too (go ahead herbs... “Lil Wayne a legend? smh”)

So much stuff in the Pharrell interview:

- Mike rejecting all of those Neptunes songs, only to say he wants “the Superthug shit you give NORE”

- Dissecting the Drake/Pusha T beef

- the story of how he got linked up with Nigo and Bape
13418088, MJ wanting Superthug LMAO. That was wild

13418101, He left out that MJ actually liked those songs.
Posted by JFrost1117, Tue Dec-29-20 02:36 PM
He would call and sing the songs over the phone but still went with Rodney Jerkins fir the project.

It’s like cooking a meal for someone and they’re like “Oh woooow! Actually, I’m going to dinner with someone else, but all that you made looks fantastic.”
13418102, Basically this Curb dinner scene is what happened

I have argued with undue confidence that MJ would still be alive if he had taken those Pharrell songs. They would have jammed FO SHO. And they would have HIT. And it would have been on as far as him getting a new lease on his musical/King of Pop life. Maybe just saying 'the songs would've jammed' is as far as I should go cuz there's no telling how dude's life would've gone if he would've been more popular in his last decade of life. But its just what I think looking back. Instead, Rodney Jerkins and whatever we ended up with.
13418114, Yeah those songs were/are mostly pretty fire
Posted by Bambino Grande, Tue Dec-29-20 05:28 PM

His Rodney Jerkins stuff is pretty Meh like most of RJs category
13418125, RE: He left out that MJ actually liked those songs.
Posted by JFrost1117, Tue Dec-29-20 06:51 PM
Maybe, maybe not, but having a late-career album be better received than Invincible only could've helped. Not even the whole pack. I think "Rock Your Body", "Last Night" and maybe "Take it From Here" would've given that album some life.

Right now, I can only remember "You Rock My World", "Heaven Can Wait", and "Butterflies".
13418128, Agreed
Posted by Bambino Grande, Tue Dec-29-20 07:25 PM

@ those songs you mentioned

I was like «but maybe ‘Like I love you’ would’ve been hard» but I think thats probably a better JT than an MJ song
13418226, I was vibing with this interview till Nore pronounced Barack
Posted by Adwhizz, Wed Dec-30-20 06:19 PM
"Berr-ack" and then I cracked up laughing

Apparently Nore didn't watch the news at ALL from like 07 - 2016
