i think i was maybe a year or 2 before him.

his (white) wife was the roommate of the 1st girl i dated up there. we used to go home with her to erie sometimes (this was before she met him).

Nate Parker actually went to trial for what he was accused of, and an all white jury acquited him. Think about that. An All white jury looked at all the facts an concluded that a black man did not rape a white woman. Given the long history in this country of black men being falsely accused of sexual crimes against white women, its startling to me that an all white jury 20 years is given the brother more of the benefit of the doubt than Social Media in 2020.

Its just crazy that black twitter is constantly in an outrage at the way the criminal justice system treats black men and Karens falsely accusing Black people of crimes but at the same time are incapable of believing that this dude might have been falsely accused of a crime.

For better or for worse, theaters have been closed since the spring here in NYC, and in my opinion, they should be closed nationwide to help stem the tide of the pandemic, especially since things are literately getting worse day by day.

Are theaters open on a wide enough basis for movies like this to see any degree of profit?

Would have been interesting to see what kind of reaction this movie would have garnered with movie theaters open nationwide given the currently toxic and divisive political environment mixed with some folks in this country that gave a damn about police misconduct mainly because of George Floyd.
