I found it funny at times but no worst or less than his other specials I've caught a little bit of.

Not sure what the talk about it being somehow less funny this his usual work.

My theory is that a lot of people who don't watch him usually caught him for the first time because of how Netflix promoted it and on seeing it for the first time have a hard time understanding how he is so big.

and most of his movies. I would consider myself a fan of his stuff, so I'm definitely not in the "kevin hart try too hard" camp. This was just...damn near insufferable.

the worst part is dude is in such a safe and non threatening lane that he felt the need to do that pussy ass dream sequence shit to provide cover for some lame ass jokes that he thought might get him canceled. he really thought calling his daughter a hoe was pushing the envelope lol. shit was not provocative fam.

and also when a comic who works with a team of writers can't engage in their usual process (which, according to some, includes stealing other people's jokes, but I don't have a dog in that).

Deon Cole released like an hour of him working out material on youtube and it went way harder than Kev's special. You gotta get that stuff in front of real crowds to know if it works.

he's past the standup grind. idk what anyone expects of him at this point unless he gets back on the circuit and starts getting the reps in again

I thought it was funny, he's been better but its 2020.

Chappelle put out that dud on SNL and people COPPED PLEAS for days

He (Kevin) had a 'bit' (and I'm being generous) about being able to skip the line at an amusement park because of who he is/wealth.

How was that funny? And he spent way too long on THAT.

every craft has its fundamentals, you can't get past that no matter how 'good' you think you are.

i like KH. I'm happy for him, and i think he's a natural comedic actor, but i don't think i've ever mustered up more than a half-hearted chuckle for any of his stand up material.

it's all forgettable.

Like just tell the joke man and stop worrying about it.

Dave Chappelle tells jokes waaaay more offensive and it gets him an Emmy and a Mark Twain Award. Do you and live with it.

I’ve watched and enjoyed several of his specials. This one was definitely not as funny. Maybe he will hear the negative feedback and it will inspire him to work harder on making the next one funnier.

I haven't seen this in AGES....simple premises, simple jokes.

Dave made a show outta these tropes; KH's special was missing a lot of the comedy fundamentals (setups, callbacks) and the show suffered for that. I get the 'you want the OLD Kev, go watch my OLD shxt' - that's fine; but that doesn't excuse you from doing COMEDY. That shxt was an extended monologue for most of the show.

Because a lot of what he said didn't have an actual "joke" it was him just saying something in a kind of funny voice or tone.
