It’s all relative. Presidential transitions have never been remarkable or noteworthy until we lost the normalcy and now it is suddenly noteworthy. This applies to ... absolutely everything about the office of the president and the very existence of a POTUS. We must not take it for granted and always remember it can all be taken away, as we're seeing now. In some cases we must codify into law the expectations and boundaries that require it. In some ways we’re lucky to have made it this far before someone came alone and decided to ignore it all.
