I've seen people say the text of Barr's memo is benign. Perhaps that's true for the text, but (a) the timing is obviously purely partisan and (b) the director of the Election Crimes Branch would know if it's benign or not—and he just resigned over what he called the "new policy."

Barr's memo is not remotely benign if you speak DOJ. He's saying the traditional rule against actions that could interfere with ongoing election certification is wrong, because it's quite possible someone is stealing the election from Trump.
