It’s time. Usually after a haircut his hair grows back fast but dude is looking a little raggedy. Going to give him one more chance at the vet but if they start talking big money it’s time. He’s 14 and change. He’s lived a good life.

He missed the litter box.. nigga can’t pee straight anymore.

13408208, open the back door and let the OG roam free.....live out the rest of his

to go from working out 5-6/week
playing basketball 2x a week
soccer once a week

to nothing for about 6 months, and now being a month or two into ramping it back up. i feel like i lost that extra gear. the real tell will be hooping again but even in soccer i notice my eyes and brain are moving faster than my body for the first time.
13408324, it got me back on track

i'm thinking about going back to school and getting another degree
i'm scared and excited at the same time
it will be a career change into a new field
it will also disrupt my travel plans
but i am hoping i end up with a job outside of the us
13408347, I'm burned out on music
Posted by mista k5, Wed Oct-14-20 10:44 PM
I definitely don't feel the same as I did 6 months or a year ago when I listen to it.

I'm not eager to put on a record or just let a playlist play on my downtime.

Might not just be music, I don't want to do anything this week. The music has been for a few months now though.

I still like music but love it?? Not right now. Hopefully that passes soon. Might need to chill on new music and get back to my favorites.
13408357, Interesting. Do you listen to just hip hop?
Posted by legsdiamond, Thu Oct-15-20 08:04 AM
I’ve been playing Goodie Mob and Kendricks catalog lately.

But I definitely spend more time listening to house and Lofi shit these days.

I’ll also throw on some Steel Pulse to change things up. I’m about to do a Bob Marley mix today. Prolly Kaya.

I like to switch it up or play instrumentals too when I’m at work. I got a pocket operator so now I’m spending more time making music and finding samples to mess with.

13408388, pretty much but not exclusively
Posted by mista k5, Thu Oct-15-20 10:38 AM
most of the time i spend listening to music is at work and its listening to new releases. on fridays its full albums that were released and the rest of the week its to just the songs i liked from the albums.

when im tired of 2020 music i will just shuffle my thumb ups playlist or youtubes "my mix". i usually enjoy them but once im home i dont want to spend time listening to music.

i used to do all of the above but then when i got home i would spend a couple hours each night listening to albums or playlists because i couldnt get enough.

maybe its because my set up has stabilized. ive had the same headphones for years now and almost a year for the speakers at home. the car has been working good for a month or two now. so im used to how it all sounds.

there are some songs that come on in my 2020 favs playlist that i do love but most of them are great music that doesnt move me. i sound like lauryn lol i need that music that inspires.
13408361, I think I'm listening to less music/abums now
Posted by CherNic, Thu Oct-15-20 08:12 AM
Part of it is less time in the car of course but a part of it also is I've pivoted to mixes. So it's more new music but less entire albums if that makes sense lol
13408389, it makes sense
Posted by mista k5, Thu Oct-15-20 10:39 AM
thats pretty much the same for me. im not going back to older full albums. the new albums i listen to once except for a handful that i might go back to in full 3-5 times.

most of the time im listening to playlists of new music.
13408362, i knew i was over it when i let spotify official playlists take over for me
Posted by BrooklynWHAT, Thu Oct-15-20 08:12 AM
13408390, i mostly cant do that still lol
Posted by mista k5, Thu Oct-15-20 10:44 AM
granted i havent tried with spotify. when i put on a new releases playlist from youtube music i cant listen for more than 3 songs.

it does have a "my mix" that blends in liked songs and songs that fit the algorithm and a "discover mix" that is new to you music that it thinks you will like. both are decent and i can usually listen to without skipping. the big issue is that the my mix usually repeats a lot of the same songs each time i start it.

im mostly just listening to my own playlists so im not quite into auto mode yet
13408400, i think you'd like Spotify's artist radio playlists
Posted by BrooklynWHAT, Thu Oct-15-20 11:21 AM
thats probably my primary way of listening. every artist will have a playlist on their page of 50 or so tracks from them and similar artists.

i keep drilling down from there and thats my main way of discovering new/adjacent artists

they get updated every few weeks too.

13408402, sounds interesting
Posted by mista k5, Thu Oct-15-20 11:33 AM
youtube music keeps playing music after youre done with an album or playlist. presumably similar to what you were listening to. i listened to the berhana album last night and the song that came on after was pretty dope and new to me. i think i left it on for a couple of songs before i went to bed.
13408393, I never get burned-out on music, only on certain genres
Posted by flipnile, Thu Oct-15-20 11:04 AM
and only for a time. Stuff I truly like always rotates back in at some point (usually cycles lasting years).

13408397, this is a first for me
Posted by mista k5, Thu Oct-15-20 11:17 AM
for being burned out im still spending a good amount of time listening to it lol

hopefully with a few tweaks i can get back to just enjoying it.
13408399, ever meet someone that doesnt listen to music?
Posted by mista k5, Thu Oct-15-20 11:21 AM
those people seem weird to me. granted there are people that are hearing impaired, not talking about them.

i knew a dude in high school that didnt listen to music. dude was named forrest and this was a couple of years after the movie. he was a weird dude through and through but not listening to music??? i couldnt understand it.

truly enjoying all music and not having a preference is one thing but not listening to music at all? i dont trust you.
13408553, My wife had a dance company member who didn’t like music
Posted by legsdiamond, Fri Oct-16-20 07:23 AM
Turns out she just liked to hear herself talk..

that’s the real reason she didn’t like music.

My wife fired her because... how can you trust a dancer who doesn’t like music?
