13402812, There's sort of a hint of what he's going to do right before he does it.
Posted by mrhood75, Mon Sep-07-20 08:04 PM
He separates "the" and "suckers" into two separate bars. Very few MCs ever does that.

Milk tried a lot of weird shit in his rhymes back then.

it made it easier to hear if you had the 12 inch with the acapella on it....

why would Gizmo cut up for the suckers anyways... that's the part that I never understood.
13402830, I remember Souls doing that a ton on the 93 til Infinity album.
Posted by Numba_33, Tue Sep-08-20 08:37 AM
Pretty wild for Top Billin to be that innovate with the rhyme schemes was back then.
13402843, I knew this one
Posted by handle, Tue Sep-08-20 10:34 AM
Because of a discussion I had with someone about Audio Two in 1991.

The lyric we just plain didn't understand was from I Don't Care:
"I got speakers, the size of your girl"

Is his girl TINY? Or is it a normal size girl but a bigger speaker? Or is her girl a basketball player and the speakers are GIANT???

Also we agreed that The Freshet Slow jam was SUPER WEAK.

13402846, lol Damn. This reminds me of the Electric Relaxation chorus debate
Posted by Airbreed, Tue Sep-08-20 10:51 AM
For YEARS, everyone thought the chorus was, "Relax yourself girl please sit down."

While what's actually said is, "Relax yourself girl, please set-tle down."

It's interesting how some of us listened to words in lyrics when we were younger versus how we do with an older ear.

13402848, What u talking about? It's clearly "relax yourself girl, plea sep plan"

Posted by Boogie Stimuli, Tue Sep-08-20 01:50 PM
but there's never been a time I've listened to the recording and actually heard them say that. I refuse to believe it lol. I hear it when they do it live, but nope, they're not saying that on the recording.

Posted by dagu, Tue Sep-08-20 03:31 PM
13424844, ^^ I thought it was a french phrase
Posted by infin8, Mon Feb-22-21 03:12 PM

lmaoooo
13402869, I rmemebr those day
Posted by handle, Tue Sep-08-20 03:35 PM
Guess #2 was "Relax yourself girl, please set-tle down."

Most people thought ""Relax yourself girl, peace, set-tle down."

"Relax yourself girl, please slap that c-lam." was a distant 3, but my favorite.

I really think most people who thought it was settle because of Ms. Melodie's line "The violence in rap must cease and seckle," after her husbands "I'll be back, but for now just sekkle!"

13424668, i always hear "relax yourself girl peace out premier"
