Edit: it has some cream cheese aspects, but there's other cheeses in there too.
|
13402167, kind of inspired by them lol Posted by mista k5, Tue Sep-01-20 04:47 PM
i think churchs is my go to. first place i ever had them and they still taste like i remember them. jack in the box is good too though. breading is a bit thick though.
sonic needs to call theirs pickle poppers...uhm okay not that but they cant be jalapeños.
|
13402173, JNTB is the GOAT to me. Actually really like their breading. That said... Posted by PROMO, Tue Sep-01-20 04:54 PM
the greater Seattle lacks a lot of big fast food chains that are found elsewhere, including Church's.
shit, you gotta go WAY (and I mean way) north or south of Seattle to find simple shit like Popeye's/Sonic/etc.
|
13402174, im being picky with the breading thing Posted by mista k5, Tue Sep-01-20 04:59 PM
theyre very good. probably favorite fast food ones after churchs.

13402609, i've never thought about it Posted by shygurl, Fri Sep-04-20 04:14 PM
Generally, jalapeno poppers are bottom tier as far as appetizers go, so I have no preference.

13402611, let me see that appetizer list Posted by mista k5, Fri Sep-04-20 04:27 PM
|
13402612, god, I would have to think about it Posted by shygurl, Fri Sep-04-20 04:30 PM
Jalapeno poppers are near the bottom, as are chicken tenders. I would really have to think about what I would consider god-tier.

garlicky spicy with meats... not to mention the 444 different dips you can use
can’t do much with cheddar...

13402876, aight here goes Posted by shygurl, Tue Sep-08-20 05:57 PM
(I'm assuming that we're at your average mid-range sit down restaurant. Anything higher and the options become too varied to really discuss.)
God Tier -
1) Chicken Wings - A king among kings. (of course with bones) 2) Quesadillas 3) Fried Raviolis - This was a toss up btw fried raviolis and mozzarella sticks, but in my opinion raviolis win because the outer coating tends to be crispier and they are not as common as mozzarella sticks.
Average Tier -
1) Chips and Dip - Good but so easy to fuck up. Chips have to be fresh and hot. Dips have to have the perfect consistency and not be too salty. Often the ratio of chips to dip is off, resulting in wasted food. A good fallback with a crowd. 2) Nachos - At this point don't even call them appetizer, most places sell them entree sized. In my case often requires quite a bit of modification since I'm (a little bit) picky. Wings are worth the effort, but sometimes you don't want to eat with your hands, and nachos are not usually worth dirtied hands. 3) Anything shrimp themed - Too often the shrimp is farmed and tasteless. Tend to have a stupidly high amount of bread/coating with a poor ratio of shrimp. Also not worth the possibility of not being cleaned right; nobody is trying to eat the digestive track of these shits.
Garbage Tier -
1) Fried Pickles - Fucking gross. 2) Boneless Wings - You might as well eat dog food if you eating this shit. 3) Calamari particularly calamari rings - This might be psychosomatic, but all I can think of is the rumor that calamari is pig rectum and I just can't do it. Once you get into nicer places you tend to get whole calamari, but at this point I never order calamari rings.
(Jalapeno poppers would fall somewhere btw average tier and garbage tier by the way. Worth tasting one if somebody else orders it, but not worth getting an entire order's worth)

13402907, i waited how many days for THIS??? Posted by mista k5, Wed Sep-09-20 10:20 AM
>God Tier - > >1) Chicken Wings - A king among kings. (of course with bones)
This is no appetizer, maybe like nachos it used to be but come on, there are whole wing places. Disqualified!
>2) Quesadillas
Sure. So common and easy though.
>3) Fried Raviolis - This was a toss up btw fried raviolis and >mozzarella sticks, but in my opinion raviolis win because the >outer coating tends to be crispier and they are not as common >as mozzarella sticks.
You're trolling now.
> >Average Tier - > >1) Chips and Dip - Good but so easy to fuck up. Chips have to >be fresh and hot. Dips have to have the perfect consistency >and not be too salty. Often the ratio of chips to dip is off, >resulting in wasted food. A good fallback with a crowd.
Um, you pay for chips and dips? They put these on the table before you even make it there. I will say Taco Cabanas queso is worth paying for. More so as a dip for flautas.
>2) Nachos - At this point don't even call them appetizer, most >places sell them entree sized. In my case often requires quite >a bit of modification since I'm (a little bit) picky. You sharing nachos as an appetizer during COVID?
>3) Anything shrimp themed - Too often the shrimp is farmed and >tasteless. Tend to have a stupidly high amount of >bread/coating with a poor ratio of shrimp. Also not worth the >possibility of not being cleaned right; nobody is trying to >eat the digestive track of these shits.
One good answer. You know the best kind? The shrimped stuffed bacon wrapped JALAPEÑO POPPERS!

At least we can agree on this. Weren't you the one that was going to make a peanut butter and pickle sandwich? How did that go?
> >(Jalapeno poppers would fall somewhere btw average tier and >garbage tier by the way. Worth tasting one if somebody else >orders it, but not worth getting an entire order's worth)
Wrong.
