Probably my favorite book of all time. I know Slaughterhouse 5 is his «classic» but to me Cat's Cradle is the one

What else should I be reading?

13399607, My fave Vonnegut book as well.

Did you ever read any Terry Pratchett? Nothing is similar to Vonnegut that I’ve read but the TP stuff is equally clever and funny (it’s mostly lacking the tragic emotional catharsis of KV tho.) Check out “Hogfather”.

“Confederacy of Dunces” is another really funny satirical book I’d say is in the same ballpark.
13399608, Haven't read any T Pratchett, I mainy know his name from the tv show

Good Omens, which I *didn't* like, but that was definitely not the script / book's fault

I'm definitely checking out some of his books, thank you
13399674, Lullaby or Invisible Monsters by Chuck Palahniuk...

Read them all!
Player Piano (1952)
The Sirens of Titan (1959)
Mother Night (1962)
Cat's Cradle (1963)
God Bless You, Mr. Rosewater (1965)
Slaughterhouse-Five (1969)
Breakfast of Champions (1973)
Slapstick (1976)
Jailbird (1979)
Deadeye Dick (1982)
Galápagos (1985)
Bluebeard (1987)
Hocus Pocus (1990)
Timequake (1997)

I read all the short stories and the nonfiction up til Fates Worse Than Death.

I also tell people if they like KV they'll like Philip K. Dick.

Start with the "fun" ones - then go to the good sci-fi, then maybe stick around for the religious ones (not U.S. Christianty - more like druid-Zoroastrian-Escene combo.)

His best stuff:
The Three Stigmata of Palmer Eldritch <-My favorite
Ubik <-VERY good too
Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? <-Baderunner is based on this like 8%
Counter-Clock World >_minor but has a very Malcom X like character in it
Flow My Tears, the Policeman Said
A Scanner Darkly <-WAY better than the movie
Martian Time-Slip
Clans of the Alphane Moon <-Funniest to me
Confessions of a Crap Artist (NOT Sci-fi.)
