I know you asked her but I was also there at the same time.

VCU had tons of artist at that time..

musicians, dancers, producers, etc

and we would throw a show anywhere. What made Richmond so dope is its highly underrated as a foodie city. So you had all these little pubs and restaurants that would let you host a night or throw a lil open mic.

and you had a huge melting pot of people. Black, white, asian, indian, african, etc..

as college kids we were all on some “don’t take it to DC, do it in Richmond.

I’ll never forget promoting in DC and a DJ was like “how the fuck did you get all of Heiroglyphics in Richmond?

We just called them.. lol. It really was that easy. We thought these were huge artist but they were just young artist desperate to perform ANYWHERE.

Which meant we could book local acts to open for them.
