it's not that I believed with my whole naive heart they were "noble" lmao because no one is. We have the books/interviews/lyrics to show the track record of some of them partaking in some of these allegations.

I see people say they're not surprised to hear about the adultery, womanizing (amongst most touring musicians in general) because it was a loud secret... and Black Thought even mentioned in an interview with Method Man and Heather B. a few years ago about how he and his wife were in marriage counseling. He also literally said in his song "Thank You" on SOT1:

"And to my lady baby, thank you for forgiving me...
Gangsta and fly hoes, freaks and side shows...
Even though I was spazzing boo, I wasn't mad at you..."

Context clues.

What I was trying to say earlier was that I always separated them from those who seemed "capable" of committing these acts of alleged s*xual assault, physical abuse, shifty business, creepy behavior, etc. because of what's shown and said to us. (and this is where the stereotypes of "other kinds of rap" and bias come in). I guess this what she and y'all meant by the "neo-soul movement was a lie".
