quest got with the money team while they (steve and sam hendel, and steve's broadway producer wife and the chick that was doing A&R for fela's family that tweeted the apology) were pushing the fela play

his story is he caught the play at the end of the off-broadway run and helped bring jay z and will & jada in to take it to broadway

so that is the public connection between the fitewolks and 15. and without researching it i'd bet that ?s getting involved with the play was roughly the time okayafrica launched as well, with some cash infusion from the fitewolks for the overall "okaymedia" pie.

and with okafrica having no competition, vs the other sites okp "competed" against for hiphop audiences/clicks, its not hard to picture the business strategy shifting to making okayafrica the centerpiece of "okaymedia", since thats where the money walked in the room anyway.

and SIDEBAR the 2 dudes are in investment banking/energy trading so this music website is most likely barely a playtime hobby/"looks good on a bio" that they pay no attn too, and the boards even less. which would also explain the delayed/lack of response by "ownership" on what all went down with the ceo.

my take.

also have fun unwrapping an international oil commodities trader thats in love with fela and songs against exploitation
