13390859, Help me decide on an M.2 SSD for my PC

My 1TB SATA SSD is failing/becoming unreliable for some reason.

So I think it's time to get a 2TB - and I'm thinking an M.2 NVME is the only way to go.

My SATA SSD has read write of basically 540/500.

The top M.2 NVME SSD's can go UP TO 3000/3500 with my motherboard and cost around $260.

The mid ones go to 2000/1800 and cost $200.

I'm not video editing - or rendering files. I will only have 1 M.2 SSD so copying files from it will go to devices that at MAX are 500/500.

Question is:Do I *have* to drop the extra $50 for a top-tier one?
It seems like I'd never use the extra speed in ANY scenario.
