13390731, My building wants us to bring our own chairs to the pool. Posted by lightworks, Thu Jun-25-20 12:14 PM
We just got an email saying the building pool is opening back up, that the maximum occupancy in the pool is 8 folks (they for sure ain't gonna be able to enforce that) and that to follow social distancing guidelines they removed all the furniture (which had consisted of like smaller couches and lounge chairs and the like) and we should bring our own chairs and towels.
1) LOL I know there are gonna be hella office chairs up in the bitch ain't no one gonna order a real lounge chair lmao.
2) LOL at specifying bringing our own towels, we always had to supply our own so why would they think they had to specify that now?
3) I get it, you can't expect people to sanitize shared furniture after each use so I guess this was their only option but just the idea of walking all the way downstairs with a big ass lounge chair is cracking me up.

13390736, just wait until someone sits in someone else's chair. Posted by PROMO, Thu Jun-25-20 12:27 PM
someone is gonna get thrown in that pool.
i've never seen the appeal of sitting by the pool though. i go to the pool to swim and be in the water. once i get out? it's time to go home. just personal preference.

Lounging I can get some vitamin D while I do whatever it was I was gonna do in the house anyway, whether it is reading a book or scrolling on my phone.

13390750, Nobody over the age of 16 swims recreationally Posted by MEAT, Thu Jun-25-20 01:07 PM
Maybe exercise. But just flopping around in a pool playing monkey fight and shit? Nah.

13390766, Because I’ve lived in cities and community pools aren’t floating environments Posted by MEAT, Thu Jun-25-20 01:34 PM
Now if you have one in your back yard, ok.

13390784, Wait...no one over 16 gets into pools except for exercise? Posted by Marbles, Thu Jun-25-20 03:22 PM
Man, I have no problem getting into a pool to hang out. Several friends of mine have pools in their backyards with a bar & TV right there. So it's not weird at all for us to get into the pool, watch a game, shoot on the pool hoop, have drinks & chill on some flotation toys.

13390753, i'm fat and got shitty eyes, thus... Posted by PROMO, Thu Jun-25-20 01:10 PM
a. no one wants to see me out of the pool and;
b. trying to read anything with the sun all in my business just isn't an endeavor i should go for. i've tried it.
but, i understand how it can appeal to folks. i'm no scientist but i'm pretty sure getting Vitamin D actually makes you physically "feel good."

13390765, Damn that sucks sis. Posted by lightworks, Thu Jun-25-20 01:32 PM
Our pool was supposed to open Memorial Day and it didn't.
We've correctly had the common areas like the community room and gym and stuff closed since March and honestly I started to think the residents should demand the yearly amenity fee back since even though everything was closed for safety reasons we weren't getting anything for that fee.
All that being said I really think they are opening everything up because of that reason, because they don't want a revolt, and personally I won't be at the gym or in the pool or the pool deck anytime soon since everything is sure to spike again shortly.
All that being said though it sucks you don't at least have the opportunity to have the option to out and enjoy it.

13390794, Hope you don't have a clown car family or NO POOL FOR YOU Posted by KingMonte, Thu Jun-25-20 05:04 PM
I imagine a few failed attempts to use the pool because the huge ethnic family has set up camp would turn you republican for a quick second.
