13385217, Non-black people can't name one Jill Scott song Posted by Mori, Sat May-23-20 08:10 AM I didn't know that Jill Scott was not popular until I went to a white university. Some people heard of Erykah Badu but couldn't name one song. Jill Scott has never had a crossover hit. Lauryn Hill, every single person I know either had the album or know her songs, across ALL races. The other artists are good but no mass appeal. Still I am hanging on to the colorism angle. A huge issue for me in the present day music industry.
