13380237, Do people still knock on doors without calling or texting first?

I’ve thought about this before watching tv and it actually came up the other day in a zoom convo....

Do people still just show up and knock on people’s doors?

And I’m not necessarily talking about immediate family or sales type people.

I mean like I’m in the neighborhood let me see if so-and-do’s home or even worse people drove crosstown unannounced.

Some people say if they weren’t expecting anybody they don’t even answer. Some still do.

Does that still happen or just on tv?

Only rando visitors I get is solicitors and JW's.

We had a neighbor when I was in HS that got so comfortable she wouldn't knock or anything, we'd just notice the fuckin' front door handle jiggling like in a horror movie. And she'd be genuinely pissed like "Why do y'all ALWAYS lock your door?"
13380285, It was cool going home to visit my pops

all his friends just popped up.

Shit was like a show. Someone would knock and then walk in and we would look at the living room entrance like a game show “ohh shit, it’s black ass Jimmy Jam, what up playa”

It’s one of the main reasons I never tried to get my dad to move down south with us. He had tons of friends who popped up randomly to check on him. Even my friends growing up would pop up to show love at random times.

my pops also sold trees and smoked people out..

but back home people still pop up to say high or bring a plate by. That shits cool.
