A majority of the same proletariat that rise would rise up also lives in a bubble of talk radio and Fox News.
Additionally any media coverage of growing unrest for normal people would get drowned out (occupy wallstreet), while armed angry white people would be covered way larger than they are (literally any milita movement) which is a very useful public opinion shaping tool.
